Dr. William Waddell
Dr. Waddell received his A.B.
degree in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina in 1951 and
his M.D. degree from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine
in 1955. He held a USPHS Postdoctoral Fellowship from 1955-58 in the
Department of Pharmacology at the University of North Carolina. From
1958 to 1972 he was on the faculty of the Department of Pharmacology in
the School of Medicine at the University of North Carolina with joint
appointments at that University in the Center for Research in
Pharmacology and Toxicology. He was Professor of Pharmacology at the
University of Kentucky College of Medicine from 1972-76. From 1977 to
1998, when he retired from the University, he was Professor and Chairman
of the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University of
Louisville. He is presently Professor and Chair, Emeritus, in the
Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, School of Medicine,
University of Louisville. He is the author of more than 120
peer-reviewed articles in pharmacology and toxicology. He continues to
serve as a consultant to many major industries and organizations
including “think tanks” on various aspects of toxicology. He has given
more than 100 invited lectures in North America, Europe, Kuwait, Egypt,
China, Japan, Korea, Australia, New Zealand, and Thailand. He is a
Fellow of the Academy of Toxicological Sciences. He serves or has served
on the editorial boards of Drug Metabolism and Disposition, Toxicology
and Applied Pharmacology, Human and Experimental Toxicology and
Toxicologic Pathology. |
