Al Goodman is President and founder of
A. W. Goodman & Associates, Inc., an environmental consulting firm
located in New Albany, Indiana. He is also Past President of
the international Water Environment Federation with 40,000 members
orldwide, and Past President of the Indiana Water Environment
Association.
He
served as Past President of the Kentuckiana
Certified Hazardous Materials Managers Association and several other
professional environmental organizations and chaired over 14
wastewater and environmental committees.
Al has a BA degree in chemistry from
Bellarmine, and is a certified
wastewater plant operator. He is a registered Professional Engineer
in 3 states, and a licensed Indiana plumber.
He has 30 years of wastewater experience including design, plant
operations, industrial treatment, operations training and
troubleshooting and safety litigation.
In 2002, Al purchased 54 acres with a
140 year old leather tannery and wetland complex in New
Albany, IN. He will speak to us about the unique process of making
animal hides into leather and bring show-&-tell items describing the
tanning process. In addition he will talk of the history of the
“Dueling Grounds”, and his plans for the tannery and the Loop Island
Wetlands, which are now open to the public.
